Our History

In April 1951 Dan & Maureen Buckley arrived in Macroom, when the hotel was originally called Ronans with just 10 bedrooms. It was also the official stop for the bus and a delivery & collection point for boxes of chickens, poultry & many other items.

Over the following decades, the hotel grew into 56 bedrooms, with a Leisure Club, award winning food and many options for hosting events.

Now in their third generation, The Buckley Family have been welcoming visitors to the traditional market town of Macroom for over 70 years. We guarantee an utterly unique experience, genuine Irish hospitality and a hotel bursting with character. Following in our parents & grandparents footsteps, we continue our proud family tradition of extending the warmest of welcomes to our guests.

Along with our wonderful team of staff, of whom many are working with us for over 20 years, we look forward to sharing Macroom with you, creating moments for you to treasure and experiences that you will want to return to again and again!
