A statutory Nature Reserve, The Gearagh, represents the remains of the last Post-Glacial Alluvial Rain Forest found in Western Europe, which was formed at the end of the Ice Age. Over one hundred species of flowers, plants and ferns to be found here. Opened May 2009, new Bird Observation Tower.
